Change of Location for Sunday Services 9/1

Dear Friends,

Due to some ongoing construction and remodeling we will not be holding services at MCPC this coming Sunday. Covenant Christian School has graciously allowed us to host services in their gym for these dates while our building is unable to be used. The address for Covenant Christian School is 54790 N Fir Rd, Mishawaka, Indiana 46545.

We hope to see you there!

“Deacons likewise must … hold the mystery of the faith with a clear conscience. And let them also be tested first; then if they prove themselves blameless let them serve as deacons. ” – I Timothy 3:9-10

Matthew Smith

Matthew and his wife Julie were married in August 2012 and have three children. Matthew was born and raised in Northwest Indiana, where some of his family still live. After graduating from Calvin University (fka Calvin College) in Grand Rapids, Michigan, he and his wife moved to South Bend in September 2013. Matthew is a civil engineer and Director of Engineering for Anchor Construction, a commercial and industrial design-build general contractor. He enjoys singing, spending time with his family, and going to the movie theater. Matthew feels called to use his skills and expertise both to help maintain the physical wellbeing of the church building and grounds and to participate in being God’s hands and feet in showing mercy to those in need.

Hugh Lynn

Hugh is an industrial engineer for FedEx. He and his wife, Rachael were married in June 1999. They have five children, Abby, Aiden, Audrey, Ava, and Andrew. They moved from Memphis, Tennessee, to South Bend in August 2009. “On our first visit, Pastor Peter invited us to their home for lunch. We were astonished that someone would invite strangers into their home so readily! We have really been blessed by the singing of Psalms and hymns, the faithful preaching of the Word, the encouragement of the Sacraments, and the friendship and fellowship of the people of God at Michiana Covenant Church.

Bob Taylor Deacon Emeritus

Bob was born in South Bend, but has lived most of his life in Texas. For him, the Reformed view of the Bible, and Reformed sensibilities about worship, have been freeing and invigorating. Bob hopes his experience of having lived with serious disabilities since childhood, and of having to surmount the many additional challenges from other sources which such a life brings with it, give him a perspective and a sensitivity which will serve his responsibilities as a deacon well.
